Loosely based on (and then deviating sharply from) Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength. A full-body, mostly free-weight program that is designed for newbies with a bit of spark, or those who have taken a break from weight training. It's simple, minimalist, devastating, and should cover most equipment needs.



What It Is

  • 3 days per week, 40 minutes each. 6 weeks total.
  • Majority compound lifts. 4 primary lifts per session covering all your major movements.
  • 3 sets each lift. Straight sets. As simple as can be.



What You Get

  • Immediate access to the program guide outlining key program information.

  • Every exercise has sets, reps, intensity guidelines, as well as video instructions.



What You'll Need

Restarting strength features a majority of compound barbell lifts with some machine and limited cable use. So most commercial gyms will cover your needs here. Alternative exercises can be created and are included as best-case scenarios. Please reach out if you have any questions about swaps that you'd like added. If it makes sense, I'll adjust it.



Who This Is For

You're busy. You have a lot of things going on, but you know strength is important. Feeling and looking great is key. You want to get in, hit your main moves and get out in 40 minutes. Starting out, or coming back after a little break? It doesn't matter. You're not afraid to get under a bar or try it out.

Restarting Strength is all about productive simplicity. Doing less but doing it excellently, and having plenty of energy left to enjoy and use what you're building. Get it done.
